Undeserved Misfortune
Some undeserved misfortune that I've seen in a movie is in Finding Nemo. The whole journey that Nemo's dad has to take in order to find Nemo is an example of undeserved misfortune because he should't have to go though so much trouble and risk his life because of his son's actions. Some undeserved misfortune that I had to face in my life once was when I had to move out of my grandma's house because my uncle wanted my room for himself and I ended up with nowhere to go. An idea for a film than can include undeserved misfortune is one where some kid's friend gives him a drugged drink at a party that leads that kid to end up out on the streets for the night and get mugged.
Superior Position
A great example of superior position that I have seen in a film is in Spiderman. The audience knows who killed Peter Parker's uncle Ben, but Spiderman does not. I myself have experienced superior position once in band class in sixth grade. I was in the percussion group of the class and we had a substitute teacher. A bunch of the people in the percussion group were messing around and throwing stuff at each other. My friend Anthony thought it would be funny to throw markers inside of the tubas, so that's what he did. All of class knew who messed up the tubas, but the band teacher had no idea what had happened once she had gotten back the next day.

Conflict
A conflict that arises in Toy Story is having to save Buzz Lightyear. This becomes a huge conflict because the rest of Woody's toys worry that they'll be replaced since they can't compete with newer toys like Buzz. This makes the toys become hesitant, so Woody takes it upon himself to rescue Buzz. In the entire movie, conflict is seen. Along Woody's way to save Buzz, he often has to face one conflict after another. I've noticed that there is conflict everywhere, even in my own life. One of the major conflicts I've had to face is living at five different family members' houses over the past year and a half. The only good thing about having to face this conflict is that I have progressively learned to be independent. If I had to come up with an idea for a conflict in a film, it would probably be something that I have faced or seen someone face. I would go into more detail about those things, but that is a little personal.
My Film Job
I would like my film job to be either the screenwriter or an actor. I feel like I would really enjoy being a screenwriter because I know I would have a lot of fun putting someone's ideas together and interpreting them in my own way. I'm pretty sure I would rather prefer being an actor though because I have had a lot of fun being an actor in the past when I've acted in elementary school plays. Another reason why I would really enjoy being an actor is that I get really bothered by actors who don't do a good job and I would much rather be an actor than someone who might not put the most effort possible into their role. I don't doubt that I would probably slack off if I had a job as a storyboard artist because my inability to draw would make me feel as though I would be unable to create a storyboard.

My Review of The Elephant Man
The Elephant Man is a more than interesting film that really stands out. I was really surprised to hear that it was based on actual events because of the way that David Lynch was able to portray it. It amazed me how he used certain effects and lines to portray John Merrick as a Jesus Christ of some sort. I liked how John Merrick was portrayed as a hideous version of Jesus Christ because it gets the audience to think about the consequences of what they're doing to both the Earth and themselves. I also really liked how The Elephant Man is one of those films that require more than one deep analysis of a scene to truly get the big idea of the entire film. I felt that David Lynch did an excellent job of recreating the story of John Merrick in his own way. The creepy feel of the movie really suits the story of someone who is seen as a monster. What I liked most about watching this film was that it gave the audience no other choice but to really focus on what was going on since it did not use any flashy effects or colors.

My Name is John Merrick...
I am overjoyed that I am able to live in the London hospital. I can not believe that Dr. Treves would be so kind as to make it possible for me to have somewhere to permanently stay. All of the people at the hospital are kind to me for the most part and I find that I can call myself happy for once. A lot of people still look at me like I'm some kind of abomination, but it's fine as long as I know I'm a regular human being. I thought that everyone was interested in me because of my incurable curse, but thanks to Dr. Treves I feel as though people look at me with admiration. I've always wondered what it would be like to have friends and now I'm well aware of what it's like. I don't know why the doctor wants to help me out, but frankly, I don't mind either way. I'm glad that someone cares enough to wish me the best, even if they are doing it for personal reasons. Sometimes at night I get really lonely and think of my mother. I also wonder things like who my father is. I hope my father was a good man, just like Dr. Treves. Dr. Treves is the closest thing to a friend and a father that I'll get and because of that I have never been happier. I wish I could muster up the nerve to tell him I'd never forget him.

Welcome To My Nightmare...
This one time I had a really scary dream that is a little difficult to explain. I remember that in the nightmarish dream I was trying to run as fast as possibly could, but my body just wouldn't move at all. In my head I knew I had a reason to run, but I couldn't tell if it was because I was running away from something or if I was desperately running to something. It was as if I was moving through vast, empty space. With each attempt to run, I felt the weight of the world bringing me down making it nearly impossible to move. I also remember that deep inside I want to yell at the top of my lungs. Whenever I tried to yell or even talk, nothing would come out and it felt like I had lost the ability to produce noise. I remember that feeling of despair all too well.

Compassionate Science
Science can be something that is used solely to make a bunch of money, but it can also be something that can help build a bright future. There are many ways in which this can be done and one of those ways is becoming a compassionate scientist, but what exactly does it take to be on? In order to be a compassionate scientist one must have the never-ending ability to sympathize with others. If the world had more compassionate scientists, then millions of deaths could be prevented a year. I would not be able to become a passionate scientist because I don't care about helping out others that might not even appreciate what I would do. The only case where I might do so, is if I were doing something that could help animals out. The main trait a compassionate scienctist should have is the inability to stay apathetic to all of the world's problems around them.

The Future
Within 200 years, human beings will cease to exist because we will have caused ourselves to go extinct. This is because all the harmful things that we do on a daily basis will be the death of us. The holes in the ozone layer will grow to be so big that we won't even be able to leave our homes without combusting into flames. This will make it impossible to gather food and little by little people will move to different parts of the Earth causing those places to become overpopulated and lack food. Some kind of protective suit might even have to be made just to go outside. Our lack of concern for lack of resources will also become a huge problem. All of the oceans will eventually dry up and the air we breathe will become fatally toxic. These factors will slowly but surely ensure the death of the human race and quite possibly every other organism.

One Time I Laughed Really, Really Hard
This one time I laughed so hard while drinking soda that I ended up vomiting. I was at my friend's house and he had just finished serving me something to drink. While I was drinking it, he decided that he would make funny noises to try and get me to choke and leave the back of my throat with a burning feeling from choking on soda. What ended up happening was something completely different from what he expected. At first, I started choking and soda started spewing out of my nose. I kept choking and choking until I ran out of breath. I reacted to being out of breath in an odd way. Out of nowhere a cannon of vomit show out of my mouth onto my friend's floor. I think what was even more embarrassing than throwing up on the floor was that I had to clean it up and while I was cleaning it up his mom just so happened to walk in.

My Review On Modern Times
I felt that Modern Times (1936) was a film that was both boring and entertaining. At first I felt that I would not be able to get into it because it started off at a really slow place. I would not want to watch a film about someone going crazy because of how hard they work since I can place myself in that situation and I wouldn't want that to happen to me. Once I began analyzing the film I found that it actually began to pique my interest. I thought it was great how Chaplin was able to place so many underlying messages in his film. He made certain points that pointed out the realities of life such as workers were being mindlessly herded like sheep which would lead them to go crazy because of it, the police had no mercy on anyone and they acted like brutes, and that people during the 1930's viewed the future as dark and gloomy. Once the film got to the point where he left the factory, things started to pick up and I didn't find it to be as boring. I thought it was really interesting how Chaplin decided to make the film a silent one even though sound could already be put in movies. I think this was because it wasn't his style to make a movie with sound.

My Thoughts On Bullying
I think that bullying is wrong and it shouldn't be done, but it is still excusable. A lot of people that are bullied or have been bullied feel that bullies act the way they do just because they're jerks, but that's not always the case. Most people who decide to bully other people are usually suffering from problems at home, school, and/or their environment and because of the frustration and hopelessness that they feel deep inside they decide to take it out on other people around them. I was a constant victim of bullying in middle school and even then I still feel no hate or resent towards bullying. I didn't even feel bad about having some kid drag me by my hair on his way home from school one time because he was probably dissatisfied with his life. Even though I sympathize with bullies, I think that the way they are and the way they conduct themselves is low. If someone is unsatisfied with something they should distract themselves with a pastime activity or talk to someone about it instead of taking it out on others.

My Favorite Movie
My favorite movie is Where the Wild Things Are because it is a movie that has the capability of making the audience attach themselves to it. The plot of the movie is one that many young people find themselves relating to in one way or another. It has enough beauty in emotion to excite the sensitive soul to tears. One of the major reasons that I like this movie is because it doesn't need any superheroes, natural disasters, or unreal worlds to pull you in. This movie is especially popular with young adults because it is the kind of story they can place themselves in. As cheesy and lame as it sounds, I'm somewhat of a sucker for movies with a nice feeling to them and this movie managed to create that nice feeling and more.
